DRC BEAT MALI TO WIN CHAN

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) became the first ever side to clinch the CHAN  tournament twice when they beat Mali 3-0 in the final played Kigali,Rwanda.

Mechak Elia scored a brace before Jonathan Bolingi added a third. DR Congo had  won the first edition of the tournament in 2009.

The triumph capped a fine 12 months for DRC football with TP Mazembe clinching the CAF Champions League while the national team also finished in 3rd place at CHAN 2015.

In the 3rd and 4th place playoff .The Ivory Coast beat Guinea 2-1 to finish the tournament in 3rd.
