Based on current form, there is a very good chance that, more Zimbabwe golfers than before, will gate crush into the final two rounds of the 2016 Golden Pilsener Zimbabwe Open
Scott Vincent earned his playing card on the Canadian PGA tour while the young generation of David Amm, Tanaka Mhere, John Milazi, Stuart Krog, Kieran Vincent and Tonderai Masunga received automatic entry into the Zimbabwe Open after excelling to the top five on the Zimbabwe Golf Association (ZGA) Amateur Order of Merit Standings.
The boys have had a lot of exposure and playing well on the international tournaments in Japan and other countries. The experience gained should work well for them and playing at home should give them composure.
David Amm warmed up to the upcoming Golden Pilsener Zimbabwe Open by winning the Leopard Rock Cup hosted by the Manicaland Junior Golf Association.
It is Scott Vincent though who will be under pressure to perform well after he earned conditional status on the tour by tying for 22nd place at the Canadian Tour’s Qualifying-School.
No locally-bred golfer has won the Zimbabwe Open title since 2000 when Mark McNulty’s 19-under-par 269 gave him the coveted title at the same course.
