The former world number one was set for a comeback at the Safeway Open in October, but withdrew a week prior after citing concerns over the state of his game.
He has recently spent time promoting his revised brand – TGR – but will tee up in contention next month.
‘I am excited to make my return at the Hero World Challenge at Albany and play in this terrific tournament,’ said Woods, who is the tournament host. ‘This is our 18th year, and every year we put together a top field that showcases the best golfers from the previous season.’
The Tiger Woods Foundation, Tavistock Foundation and Albany Scholars Program will receive the proceeds from the tournament. 16 of the top 25 in the world will play, including Bubba Watson, Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth and Henrik Stenson.
Woods is a five-time winner of the event and will compete in Albany for the first time since 2014.
‘It’s an outstanding setting, and I can’t thank Hero MotoCorp enough for their support of the tournament and my foundation,’ he concluded.
